I've discovered AirAsia. Lifechanging experience. £20 -£50 for a single ticket pretty much anywhere in south east asia. Not one to pass on a bargain, I've just jumped over to Singapore and boy oh boy do I love it! I've heard so many people compare Hong Kong and Singapore, usually saying that Singapore is "easier but duller". it think that's quite unfair. These are two completely different places. Having a beer in the Disneyland-esque Clarke Quay was a unique experience that gave me a completely different vision of what Asia is all about. Spent the night at Ministry of Sound, which just opened in December. Excellent club, a bit sparse but then that's what you expect on 1 january except in London.
ADDED 22 January:
It's not easy to capture the magic of a nighclub. Using the flash illuminates what is not intended to be illuminated and makes it look as you're sitting in a big living room. Not using the flash gives you fuzzy, dark pictures. The latter is the better of two bads. Here's my attempt at capturing the magic of Ministry of Sound in Singapore.
